#JournalChat Live Facebook Group Event with special guests, Naomi Arnold, Vicki Taylor and Rafranz Davis; Your Journaling: Life Intentions (Align Your Day) Part IV

I love the idea Naomi shares about your Daily Takeaway...what did we learn from our process? in our relationships? In our work? In our nurturing ourselves? Any new discoveries?
When we pay close attention to our daily life experience, we can learn so much, which essentially helps us grow and stay aligned with our days.

  • Naomi Arnold And if something isn't working, you try something new right? I like to use my journal to reflect on the new things and approaches I can try, not just with relationships but with any area where I feel resistance or struggle at the time.

  • Dawn Herring I so agree, Naomi. Our lives can be fluid rather than resistant.

  • Naomi didn't miss the spiritual side of things with meditation...keeping us centered in who we are... and how we can journal our meditation experiences. This is a very personal deep insight we can benefit from, in whatever way we go deep within. I encourage this as well.

    • Naomi, do you have a summarizing word to share about aligning our days with our journaling practice? Perhaps a word of recommendation specific to our journaling community?

      • Naomi Arnold One word. Hmmm... Kindness. Openness. Flexibility. Intention. Reflection. Self-love. Feeling. Power. Strength. Love. Growth... oops that was WAY more than one word!

      • Dawn Herring I didn't mean just one word exactly...although the ones you shared are awesome! You can use as many words as you'd like, NaomiBut I love what you already said!

      • Naomi Arnold I think that my overall message would be that aligning our days with our journaling practice is such a powerful tool - but to remember to treat yourself with kindness in doing so. Don't use it as another means of beating yourself up when you don't 'match up' to your intentions.

      • Naomi Arnold And one powerful question that you can always fall back on - "What would I do here/in this moment/today if I loved myself more?"

      • Dawn Herring Oooh, I love that, Naomi. Take care as we align; it will come naturally if we let it.

      • Dawn Herring Wow, you just got right to the heart of the matter, didn't you,Naomi! Yes! I was just listening to the song by Whitney Houston earlier, The Greatest Love of All...is easy to achieve. Learning to Love yourself!

      • Naomi leaves us with a dynamite word of encouragement to be gentle with ourselves as we align and to ask the question about how we can love ourselves more in any given moment or situation.
That's really what it's all about, isn't it? Then we can be confident and leave our wonderful mark in the world because we took care of ourselves. Imagine what you can accomplish using your journal to align with your day!

        • Naomi Arnold What an amazing summary Dawn, thank you. This pretty much summarises the exact message that I know I'm trying to get out in the world - and I love that through journaling and through meeting you that I've been able to talk about it with all you beautiful people today.

        • Naomi Arnold Thank you so much for having me Dawn and for featuring my article. Can I just confess, as a bit of a nudge and encouragement to others - that when I initially submitted this article, it was rejected by another publisher. They said that they loved my writing style and invited me to write about something else - but that journaling was not a topic that people were interested in. I was shocked and obviously didn't agree - and stuck by my intuition that it needed to be "out there". So I went to the Huffington Post and they agreed. And then this is how I met you, and all of the wonderful people here, who have taught me so many lessons since joining this group. So if you feel rejected, and you know in your heart that what you are doing is true, make sure you keep going for it - amazing things can happen, as evidenced here. Big virtual hugs to each and every one of you.
